I was initially drawn to The Bachelor Missions because of the espionage vibe of its publicity material. What I found was a thriller filled with complex characters and story lines. While the novel definitely has a retro feel, there is also some pretty advanced technology featured in this story, as well. Unfortunately, I didn’t completely connect with the writing style, which kept me from completely connecting with the characters.
