Less than two months after its grand opening, Amore’s Italian Ristorante has closed its doors, seemingly for good.

The restaurant was opened in September with very little fanfare. It featured Italian dishes such as spaghetti and meatballs and fettuccine alfredo.

However, as of Nov. 8, the signs on the outside of the building, located at 108 S. First St., were gone.

While the restaurant’s telephone number still is active, there is no answer or voicemail available. The owners could not otherwise be reached for comment.

Online reviews of Amore’s generally have been positive, other than some concerns about higher prices, but there is no clear reason for the restaurant to have closed its doors so soon.

The location has been home in recent years to three other failed restaurants, however — two of them Italian restaurants, as well.
