Angels in the Attic and Walmart in Arkansas City are teaming up to provide local underprivileged children with school supplies.

“Stuff the Bus” is a school supply drive. While the bus is parked at Walmart, they will accept any donations made, regardless of where the items were purchased.

School supply lists can be found at Walmart or online at

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 29, the Arkansas City Public School District will have a bus parked in front of Walmart.

“I had the opportunity to spend some time with Janice (Marr) and Ivy (Beals) from Angels in the Attic, and learn about some of the many ways their organization serves our community,” said Walmart Manager Mark Chickadonz. “As soon as I left our meeting, I was excited to see how we were able to help in their cause.”

The donated supplies will be delivered to Angels in the Attic, then given out to the kids at a date yet to be determined.

Walmart will donate $250 to this great cause, according to Chickadonz.

“(Angels in the Attic) are truly on a mission to make our community better and Walmart is proud to partner with them towards that goal,” he said.
