Cowley College Applied Voice student Julian Cornejo performs Dec. 7 at First Presbyterian Church in Arkansas City.

Half of the Applied Voice students were featured in a recital at Cowley College’s Student Showcase earlier in the week and the other half participated in the recital on Dec. 7.

“It always amazes me to hear the growth of each student throughout the semester,” said Applied Voice instructor Lindsay Allen.

“Their work this semester on their pieces really showed during the recital. David (Smith) and I are proud of everyone who performed.”

Citizens may continue to celebrate the holiday season with music by attending the annual Christmas Vespers Concert on Dec. 10.

The Cowley College Singers and Cowley College Concert Choir will perform traditional Christmas music, as will the Concert Band and Jazz Band.

There is no cost to attend the event, which will be held at 2:30 p.m. in the Robert Brown Theatre, located at 215 S. Second St.

Following Vespers, audience members can head to the college’s Earle N. Wright Community Room for a reception hosted by the Cowley College Foundation.
