The Arkansas City Area Arts Council is planning a day trip next week to the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art.
The Ark City Arts trip will leave from the Cowley College’s Brown Center at 8 a.m. July 31.
The museum, which is located in Bentonville, Arkansas, is showing Dale Chihuly’s works.
Chihuly is an American glass sculptor who is known for his large, colorful blown glass pieces.
Some of the pieces he is well known for are chandeliers that incorporate blown glass with light.
While in Arkansas, the group also will take an exclusive Frank Lloyd Wright house tour.
Additional exhibits also are on display, including a wonderful exhibition of the early work of the famous pop artist Roy Lichtenstein.
For more information on art exhibitions that will be on display during this trip, visit the Crystal Bridges website at www.crystalbridges.org.
The trip will be $40 per person and tickets can be purchased through the Ark City Arts website.
