The Ark Valley Players (AVP), the area’s newest theater group, is holding a design contest to find their new logo.
“We are really excited about this contest,” said Michelle Zakharov, AVP board president.
“The Board of Directors and our members agreed unanimously that we should take this contest to the community. The artistic talent pool in our area is wide and deep — it would be a shame to not tap in to it.”
Zakharov said the contest will run through May 1. There is a $10 entry fee. A $50 cash prize is being offered to the winner, along with tickets for the company’s first season of shows.
The winner also will be featured on the AVP website, and all promotional and publicity materials, T-shirts, and social media will feature the new logo.
“A big part of the mission of the Ark Valley Players is to reach a broad area that not only includes Ark City, but (also) south-central Kansas and northern Oklahoma,” Zakharov said.
“We are looking for a logo that will incorporate that mission. This logo is an important piece of the puzzle as we begin to grow and expand.”
“Judging will be based on originality, design quality and visual impact,” Zakharov added.
“AVP is looking for a logo that stands out, so we encourage entrants to think outside of the box.”
Zakharov also mentioned that local students are encouraged to place an entry.
