Students in Cowley College’s Academic Civic Engagement through Service (ACES) and Cowley Activity Awareness Team (CAAT) programs, with the help of the Optimists of Arkansas City, will conduct a pulled pork benefit dinner on Oct. 12.
The meal is dine-in or carryout at lunch and carryout only for supper.
Lunch will be hosted in the Earle N. Wright Community Room and is available from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m
Supper carryout, packaged and ready to go, will be available from 4:30 to 7 p.m. and can be picked up at the north door of the Brown Center.
The meal will include pulled pork, baked beans, cole slaw, bread and chocolate cake.
Tickets cost $10 each, and are being sold by ACES and CAAT students. Those interested in tickets should call James Fry at (620) 441-5269 or Lea Newman at (620) 441-5236.
All proceeds will go toward the Cowley College food packaging event in November, in which all food packaged will help local families.
“We were very pleased with last year’s local impact, and look forward to continuing to give back to the community this year,” said Fry, who serves as ACES coordinator for the college.
