Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Cowley County recently held its annual Christmas party for all matches and Littles on the waiting list.
More than 50 people enjoyed bowling, pizza and a small treat bag.
All of the kids were entered into a drawing for three bicycles that were given away, thanks to Jerry Osborn.
“We were very fortunate to have Jonathan Leeper and American Family Insurance sponsor this year’s event,” said BBBS’ Debi Clark.
The employees had discussed in their weekly meetings something different they could do for kids, she said.
“This time of year, they try to do something special. Jonathan mentioned to them that when he went to Southwestern, they did a skating party for Big Brothers Big Sisters,” Clark said.
“Jamie Harrod then contacted BBBS and we discussed the Christmas bowling party.”
After they discussed the opportunity, they agreed it would be fun to be involved with this event, Clark said, and they enjoyed seeing the kids smiling and having a great time.
There are 96 youths who would love to have either a Big Brother, Big Sister, Couple or family match.
