Jenn Derrick, of Ponca City, Okla., and Levi Jack Taylor, of Norman, Okla., will perform as Broken Chord at 7 to 9 p.m. July 29 at Steamy Joe, 216 W. Central Ave.
Derrick, who “loves Jesus, her family, lentils and talking in third person,” is a follower of Christ and has led Christian worship on stages big and small all across the world, including in Africa, since grade school.
She also worked as a disc jockey with Praise 88 and The House 98 FM Christian radio stations broadcast out of Ponca City.
Taylor currently works at a tech startup called BuildZoom. He spends his nights and weekends leading worship, enjoying live music, and “being an uncle.”
Taylor also is finishing his first novel.
Together, Derrick and Taylor will bring to life a unique blend of contemporary worship and Christian cover songs.
Four years ago, they led worship together in Africa on a guitar with a broken string, and that’s when Broken Chord was born.
Steamy Joe is very excited to have the pair for their debut performance. Dinner will be served from 5 to 8 p.m.
The concert and adult coloring are free to the public.
