Ballet Wichita will appear Sept. 8 in Wilson Park, performing “The Little Mermaid” as its 2018 Ballet in the Park feature.

The performance will be at 11 a.m. on the V.J. Wilkins Memorial Stage under the rotunda, located at 701 N. Summit St. in Arkansas City.

Those who wish to enjoy the free show are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket.

This event is sponsored by Burford Theatre Arts.

Ballet in the Park is not new to the region, having been performed earlier this year in Augusta, Mulvane and Wichita.

“The Little Mermaid” is a 45-minute performance.

In 2017, Ballet Wichita performed for more than 20,000 people including eight performances of the treasured holiday ballet, “The Nutcracker,” according to the ballet’s website.
