The Arkansas City Community Band will be host to its annual “Night at the Movies” concert at 7:30 p.m. June 28 under the Wilson Park rotunda.

This is the band’s fifth concert its 147th consecutive season.

All community band concerts are free and open to the public. Seating is limited, so concert-goers may wish to bring their own chairs.

“We have had fantastic audiences this summer,” said band director Chris VanGilder.

“I know it will be hot, but I hope everyone will still make it out.  We will have plenty of cold water to share.”

Selections include pieces from iconic music composers such as Henry Mancini’s “The Great Race” and “Baby Elephant Walk,” and John Williams’ “Raiders March” and “The Cowboys.”

Other selections include a medley from “Mary Poppins” and the popular “Happy” from “Despicable Me 2,” along with several others.
