Cowley College’s main campus in Arkansas City will be host to the fourth annual Cowley CARES Conference from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 5. Registration and vendor booths will open at 7:30 a.m.
This local conference helps those within the area of early childhood education to earn the proper professional development needed to keep or maintain their Kansas Department of Health and Environment license.
“We have enjoyed creating a working relationship (with) the child care providers, foster parents and many others within the past four years,” said Janet Davidson, Cowley College director of child care and development and early childhood education.
“We look forward to this event every year. My goal is to make the providers (and) families feel special and gain quality training.”
Davidson said there will be 13 vendor booths and eight presenters at this year’s conference.
“We offer options each session so that the attendees can pick according to their needs,” Davidson said. “I want to thank Desaree Groene, Emily Soule, Beth Reeder, Amy Hutto, Deb Herndon, Julie Rhoads, Regina Miller and Jennie Larson for taking the time to present at this year’s event.”
