The annual blood drive saw 33 people give 30 units of usable blood, according to figures released by Lea Newman, health services coordinator. Each unit of blood has the potential to save three lives.

“I was excited to see so many of our students donate,” Newman said.

“Many of them were donating because they personally knew someone who needs regular transfusions or blood products, and that is truly what blood donation is all about — giving the gift of life to someone else. I was very proud of our students.”

To find out where to donate in the future, visit www.redcrossblood.org or call (800) 733-2767.
