Celebrate the holiday season with music by attending Cowley College’s annual Christmas Vespers Concert on Dec. 10!
The Cowley College Singers and Cowley College Concert Choir will perform traditional Christmas music. There is no cost to attend the event, which will be at 2:30 p.m. at the Robert Brown Theatre, located at 215 S. Second St. in Arkansas City.
The CC Singers will perform “One Voice,” by Barry Manilow, as well as two traditional favorites, “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” and “Carol of the Bells.”
The Concert Choir will perform two sacred settings, “Alleluia” and “Ubi Caritas (Where Charity and Love Are),” plus a traditional carol, “Sing We Now of Christmas,” and “Canticle of Winter,” an original composition with text by Joseph Martin.
“We have beautiful music to share with everyone,” said David Smith, director of vocal music. “Our students have worked very hard to prepare for this concert, especially since it is one of the major holiday traditions not only on campus, but also in the community.”
Following Vespers, audience members can head to the college’s Earle N. Wright Community Room for a reception hosted by the Cowley College Foundation.
