Cowley College is seeking vibrant, energetic performers and musicians for its fall musical “Mary Poppins” and performers aged 4 or older are strongly encouraged to attend.
Auditions for those aged 8 or older will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Aug. 21-22 in the Robert Brown Theatre, located at 215 S. Second St. in Arkansas City.
Those auditioning are asked to prepare 30 seconds or 16 bars of a song — traditional musical theater is preferred — and a one-minute monologue or poem.
An accompanist will be provided and is preferred. A capella and CD performances are welcomed. A head shot and résumé are desired, but not necessary.
Auditions for those aged 4 to 7 will take place from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Aug. 22. Those auditioning should prepare a short song of choice between “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” or “Happy Birthday.”
Children will need to go on stage alone, but parents are welcomed into the theater.

Anyone considered for roles will need to be available in the morning and early afternoon, as well as between 8 and 11 p.m., on Nov. 7, 8 and 11.
Rehearsals will be from 6:30 to 9:30 or 10 p.m. on Sundays through Thursdays from Sept. 11 through Nov. 8. The children’s chorus will rehearse twice a week, but times are to be determined.
All ages will be taken into consideration for rehearsal times, except for “Mary Poppins” show days and some full run-though rehearsals.
