Personnel for the 2017-18 Cowley College Singers were announced Aug. 16 after auditions were held earlier that day. Group members were chosen from 20 Cowley students who auditioned.
The 2017-18 Cowley College Singers are Stephan Harris, of Oxford; Unique Watson, of Topeka; Tristan Barragan, Jon Lee, Jacob Michaelis and Matthew Sinnett, all of Wellington; Jenny Guzman, of Wichita; and Kamdon Fuqua, Alex Randall, Tiffany Tatum and Adam Young, all of Winfield.
The group serves as musical ambassadors for the college, performing in off-campus venues around the area, as well as on-campus concerts. Its repertoire focuses primarily on the vocal jazz genre, with an occasional visit to the Renaissance madrigal style.
Any community organizations interested in having the CC Singers perform for one of their meetings should call David Smith, director of vocal music for Cowley College, at (620) 441-5288, or email him at email@example.com.
Because most of the students involved in the ensemble work part-time jobs in the evening, at least three weeks’ notice is required when requesting a performance by the CC Singers.
