With the fall semester beginning Aug. 16, Cowley College students began moving into the dorms on Aug. 13 during the school’s annual Dorm Storm event.
A cookout outside the McAtee Dining Center followed the event. Cowley students also had an opportunity to swim for free at Paris Park Pool.
Quentin Dickey, a recent graduate of Newton High School, was among those moving into the dorms on Aug. 13.
“When I was looking at what college to attend, Cowley stood out with its affordability and quality programs,” he said.
“The people and dorms here are really nice.”
Dickey plans to major in computer science and looks forward to being active on campus.
“I hope to have a fun college experience and get a good education, which will allow me to transfer to obtain my four-year degree,” he said.
The dorms are near capacity, according to Landon West, director of housing.
