Cowley College held its 93rd annual commencement exercises May 7 at W.S. Scott Auditorium.

A total of 327 students participated in the event.

Linda Fund, executive director of the Kansas Association of Community College Trustees, served as the featured speaker and conferred degrees.

Student Senate president D’Abreian Bush, Student Senate vice president Madeline Pegorsch, and Outstanding Tiger Alumni Award recipients Otis and Terri Morrow also addressed the class.

The students included in the event were those who graduated in summer 2015 through summer 2016.

Only the students who graduated last summer and last December have received their diplomas — those who graduated this month will receive their diplomas in June.

A total of 611 students were candidates for graduation.

A reception for graduates, family members and friends was held immediately following the ceremonies in the Brown Center’s Earle N. Wright Community Room.
