WINFIELD — The Barns at Timber Creek will be host to the second annual Cowley County Bridal Expo on Jan. 21.

The event is free to the public and will feature local vendors, including photographers, caterers and many more.

The doors will open at 9 a.m. and the event runs until 2 p.m. One lucky attendee will walk away with a wedding basket giveaway.

One of the vendors to be featured at the expo is Colorful Events Bakery.

The owner of Colorful Events, Brittany Carder, said she is looking forward to the event. This will be the first year that she will attend the expo.

“I am planning on using some rental décor from Rusty Arrow on my table,” Carder said. “I plan on taking one or more of my big display dummy cakes, lots of cake samples with three different frostings, a few different fruit or cream fillings, and then I plan to take a large amount of six-pack tasting boxes for purchase, for brides to be able to take home and share and discuss with their partners.”

She also plans on sharing some of her “blingy” cake design.

Carder donated one of her tasting boxes to the gift basket that will be given away.

“I am so happy that we are having our own bridal expo and people will realize that they can stay local with their business when it comes to weddings,” Carder said.

Her mother-in-law also will be at the expo, showcasing her company, Yoly’s Authentic Mexican Cuisine.

Carder said she is excited to have Yoly’s, the Rusty Arrow and Chestnut Venue all on display.

“We’re all pretty new, and trying to help each other get established and succeed in starting new local businesses here in Ark City,” she said.
