The Royal Gauntlet birds of prey event, scheduled to be held June 15 at Cowley College’s Brown Center, has been relocated to the First Baptist Church lawn on Central Avenue, between A and B streets.
Licensed master falconer and animal rehabilitator Bob Aanonson requested that the show have trees for shade as the area is under a heat advisory.
The heat index is estimated to be as high as 107 degrees.
Royal Gauntlet will bring just three birds due to heat concerns.
There will be three humans dressed in full Renaissance regalia.
This event is free to the public and will be begin at 3 p.m.
Royal Gauntlet is presenting as part of the Art and Poetry Camp by Ark City Arts.
