While the Ark City Farm and Art Market in Wilson Park has officially ended this year, market organizer Brittany Carder is planning an indoor market.

Carder, who took over the farm and art market several years ago, decided it was time to expand with an indoor element.

“Cowley Indoor Market will host a once-a-month indoor market, located at the fabulous new Chestnut Avenue Venue,” she said.

The markets, which are being co-organized by Chestnut Avenue Venue owner Rhonda Jordan, will be themed to each month’s approaching holiday.

For October, the theme will be Halloween. The first market will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 16. Admission is free.

“There will be a variety of dinner options available at each market, from local food trucks and caterers (to) glasses of wine to enjoy while you shop,” Carder said.

Wine will be available for a monetary donation, which will benefit the Cowley County Humane Society.

The market will feature local businesses and include food, clothing, fresh produce, artistic holiday desserts, indoor and outdoor décor, furniture, and more.

“At our October market, you can expect to find fall and winter fresh produce from local farmers,” Carder said.

“(Also available will be) pumpkins, decorative gourds, peppers (and) tomatoes, as well as squash and several other items.”

Yoly’s Authentic Mexican Cuisine will be on site, serving dinner this month.

Other vendors who have signed up to participate include Colorful Events Bakery, Rusty Arrow, Wild Ivy Natural Products, Renew Wellness, MIY Shops and many more.

Vendors interested in reserving a space at this event should send a message to the Cowley Indoor Market Facebook page, or contact either Carder or Jordan.

An up-to-date vendor list will be available each week at Cowley Indoor Market.

Chestnut Avenue Venue is located at 3120 E. Chestnut Ave. in Parkerfield.
