“I know that after the holidays, some food banks tend to have less to give out,” said Cowley County Sheriff David Falletti.

Items that will be accepted include nonperishable food, household cleaners and toiletries, such as toothpaste, toilet paper and feminine products.

“All donations will be collected and divided among the Winfield Food Pantry, Manna Ministries, and Joseph’s Storehouse,” a press release from Falletti states. “Help us make this a tradition.”

So far, the only drop-off point secured is the sheriff’s office itself, located in the Cowley County Courthouse at 911 Fuller St. in Winfield.

However, “we are sending out deputies to grocery stores to see about letting us put a box there,” Falletti said in an interview Wednesday.

The sheriff’s office can be contacted at (620) 221-5554.
