Family Life Services (FLS) will be host to its annual banquet Feb. 24.
This event is one of the primary ways in which FLS is funded each year.
The banquet will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Wright Room in Cowley College’s Brown Center, located at 215 S. Second St.
It will feature live testimony, music and a dinner catered by Great Western Dining.
The testimonies will be from two individuals who have had personal experiences with FLS.
One, Rebecca Likiardopolous, is an adoptive mother and the other, Taylor Archer, is a birth mother.
Likiardopolous and her husband, Gary Moore, live in Wichita and have adopted a boy through FLS.
Archer is from Winfield and she now is studying to be a nurse at the University of Kansas.
The two adoptions are not related.
“Both of the women are articulate and charming people who understand that many people do not understand adoption, and both want others to know how loving and wonderful it actually is” said FLS Director Tim Durham.
“I am thrilled to have such great folks speak about their experience so people can know more about FLS and how what we do changes lives.”
Tickets are on sale now. Single tickets are $30, two tickets are $55 and a table of eight is $200. Sales end Feb. 22.
Family Life Services is located at 305 S. Summit St. in downtown Arkansas City.
