The Arkansas City Farm and Art Market will be moving to a Monday night next week due to the Independence Day holiday.

The market will be from 4 to 6 p.m. July 3 at the Wilson Park rotunda. The following week, it will return to its regular day and be held from 4 to 6 p.m. July 11.

“Avoid the last-minute, picked-over produce at the big stores and get the great stuff right from the farmer that picked it a day ahead of your Fourth of July barbecues,” said event organizer Brittany Carder.

Some of the produce available now includes blackberries, broccoli, cabbage, corn, cucumbers, green beans, green bell peppers, lettuce, onions, potatoes, squash, tomatoes, zucchini and more.

“Griggs Brothers Farms is going to have a ton of fresh produce, so bring the whole family,” Carder said.

Fun and colorful holiday-themed baked goods and treats, as well as Fourth of July-themed children’s on-site photography by Simply Brie’s Photography, will be available.

There also will be red, white and blue “blinged out” head wraps from Groove Street Bling, a bounce house for the children to play in while parents shop, music, and a whole lot more.
