Arkansas City business owners and any interested music or visual artists are invited to a meet and greet at 6 p.m. March 1.

The event will be held at the Arkansas City Area Chamber of Commerce office, located at 106 S. Summit St. in downtown Arkansas City.

Information will be presented about the 2018 Fifth Thursday Art and Music Crawl. Finger foods and drinks will be served.

The Fifth Thursday Art Crawl is an event that involves Arkansas City businesses hosting artists or musicians from 4 to 7:30 p.m. on fifth Thursdays in 2018. Those dates are March 29, May 31, Aug. 30 and Nov. 29.

Raffle tickets will be sold at each participating business during the art and music crawl. A raffle winner will be drawn and announced at 8 p.m. each fifth Thursday at the Burford Theatre, which will be open during the art crawl and after, with a cash bar and entertainment.

The raffle drawing will give away a large prize donated by a local business and all proceeds will go to the Fourth of July fireworks show.

The meet and greet will provide information about hosting an artist or being an artist to display for one of the four dates scheduled in 2018.

Already scheduled to participate in the art crawls are Mandolin Monroe, Art Is Ageless at Arkansas City Presbyterian Manor, The Red Door, Alderbrook Village and the Arkansas City Middle School choir.

In addition, the following businesses have agreed to participate as sponsors:

  • KSOK Radio (gold);
  • The Trust Company of Kansas (silver);
  • 1025 The River;
  • 107.9 KWLS Radio;
  • Ark City Daily Bytes;
