South Central Kansas Medical Center’s Family Birthing Unit had twice as much to celebrate with New Year’s twins. Robby Joe and James Lee Canaday were born Jan. 5, becoming the medical center’s first set of babies delivered in 2017.
Technically, Robby Joe is the true heir to the title because he was born at 3:43 p.m., weighing in at 5 pounds, 15 ounces. James Lee did not make his official arrival until one minute later at 3:44 p.m., with a weight of 5 pounds, 7 ounces.
The twins’ proud parents are Marjorie “Jane” Mazurier and Rocky Lee Canaday, of Arkansas City. Dr. Perry Lin, SCKMC’s OB/GYN, and Dr. Eric Thomson, family medicine practitioner, were present for the delivery.
