Arkansas City native Emily Flickinger will perform from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Steamy Joe.
She will sing and play guitar, ukulele, and keyboard during the concert, which is free to the public.
Flickinger always has had a love for singing.
She grew up in the church and constantly sang hymns around the house.
When she was 14, she received her first guitar and taught herself how to play — with some help from Google.
She became involved in musicals during high school and played several leading roles.
Flickinger’s most recent role was that of Anna Leonowens in “The King and I.”
She loves musical theater and even has participated in the teen choir with Music Theatre of Wichita.
Flickinger writes her own music and will share a few of her original pieces at Steamy Joe.
Every Friday night, Steamy Joe serves dinner and provides free adult coloring.
