Reedy Ford will be host to a fundraiser for the Arkansas City High School Band this weekend.
Beginning at 9 a.m. March 10, there will be a Ford Drive 4 UR School event, which has the potential to generate up to $6,000.
For each test drive taken during the eight-hour fundraiser, Ford will donate $20.
To earn the maximum amount possible, there would need to be an average of six test drives every 10 minutes.
“There will be no sales pitch,” a release from Reedy Ford states. “People fill out a form, drive a car or truck around a predesignated route and then they are done. (There is) absolutely no obligation to spend any money, at all, in any way.”
Drivers will have a wide variety of new vehicles from which to choose.
There is a limit of one test drive per household. Test drivers must have a valid driver’s license and be 18 or older.
Individuals who wish to ensure a time slot are encouraged to sign up for their preferred time by emailing ACHS Band Director Chris VanGilder at firstname.lastname@example.org. “Walk-ins are welcome, but it is best to sign up in advance to limit wait time,” VanGilder said.
All funds raised will go directly toward the band’s trip in 2019 to perform in the New Orleans’ Irish Channel St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
Reedy Ford is located at 3319 N. Summit St. in Arkansas City.
