About A Gift from Gunner Foundation
It is the mission of A Gift from Gunner Foundation to help families who suffer from the hardship of having a child with a life-threatening health condition(s).
The foundation’s goal is to provide various means of support to families in need.
The foundation was established in the honor of Gunner Shultz, who was diagnosed at 5 years old with a cancerous brain tumor known as diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma.
Shultz died at the age of 6 in May 2007.
His family received a great outpouring of support while Shultz was ill and later established the foundation to continue that forward.
“Now with the support from many neighbors and friends, we have set up this foundation to help assist other families with children who suffer from life-threatening conditions,” states the foundation’s Facebook page.
Children who receive a “Gift from Gunner” must meet certain medical requirements and must be 18 years old or younger.
