A Kansas Hunter Education course will be available to the public during the weekend of Oct. 13.
This class lasts two days and is open to anyone 11 years old or older.
Instructor Donovan Arrowsmith allows younger students to attend without being certified.
Classes will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 13 and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 14.
The maximum number of students is set at 30. There currently are 12 people enrolled.
This course covers the subjects of hunter responsibility, ethics, fair chase, history of firearms and much more.
The class will be held in the gymnasium at the north end of Central Christian Church, located at 206 W. Central Ave. in Arkansas City.
