Jensations owner Jen Ross is no stranger to making a business succeed.

“I have been very blessed with all of the encouragement and support, and faithful client friends and recent new ones,” Ross said.

The Jensations mobile massage parlor began in 2013. Ross used her mobile table to bring full body massages to anyone, almost anywhere.

For clients who liked to leave their homes to experience a massage, she worked from the basement of the former Make It Yours building, which is now Angels in the Attic.

In May, Ross graduated from cosmetology school and now she has opened her own location for some of the services she offers.

Jensations is located at 119 E. Chestnut Ave.

“I am super excited,” Ross said. “I am offering more services than just massage. I am offering nail services, facials and kinetic power dermabrasion, pedicures, and waxing. And also spa day packages.”

Personal history

Ross is a transplant to Arkansas City who moved here from Clovis, Calif.

She moved here in July 2006, after a friend talked her into moving to Kansas.

“When we moved here, we didn’t know anyone but her, so my husband didn’t want me doing my massage business,” Ross said. “So I worked at the hospital as a (certified nursing assistant) in labor and delivery.”

Her life changed again when she left the hospital to care for her ill grandmother, who passed away in March 2013.

“After her passing, I felt kind of lost,” Ross said. “I then decided to go back to what I loved doing, so I decided to do massage therapy again.”

Expanding to Jensations

It wasn’t long before Ross decided to broaden the services she provided.

“I went mainly for the skin care portion, but fell in love with the other parts as well,” she said.

Ross also will be styling hair two to four days per month at Ionic Salon, 1015 N. Summit St.

“I am really excited to be a part of the Ionic family,” she said.
