The state-of-the-art facility is expected to open in the third quarter of 2018. The new $10.3 million facility will add 20 new jobs to the local economy, while retaining another six positions.

The distribution center and warehouse will incorporate sustainable technologies, such as LED lights with sensors, and be located only a few miles away from KanPak’s manufacturing location.

“Whenever a company like KanPak chooses to expand operations in Kansas, it reflects highly on our workforce, our pro-business policies, and our status as the center for warehousing and distribution in the U.S.,” said Interim Kansas Commerce Secretary Nick Jordan.

“We thank KanPak for their commitment to creating new jobs in Kansas, and we look forward to the company’s success in the future.”

“The decision to develop this new distribution center and warehouse in Kansas was an easy one,” said Shane Solberg, general manager for KanPak in Arkansas City.

“The proximity of Goff Industrial Park to KanPak’s manufacturing location will enhance KanPak’s ability to provide superior service to our valued customers. We’re excited to be a part of this growing area and to be a contributing member of this community. The state, the county and the city have made our organization feel at home here, and we’re looking forward to further establishing our roots in Kansas.”

“KanPak has been a leading employer in Arkansas City and Cowley County for decades, and we are very pleased that they have selected to keep this expansion local,” said Cowley First Director Kerri Falletti.

“Goff Industrial Park is an ideal location for this facility and is in a perfect position to support (it) with the improvements the city has made to the infrastructure.”
