Union State Bank held its corporate Christmas party Dec. 3 at the Burford Theatre in Arkansas City.
With close to 150 employees and guests in attendance, Kim Bay was named the USB Employee of the Year by president and chief executive officer Eric Kurtz.
Bay has been with USB since Feb. 1, 2008. She is the administrative assistant at the Arkansas City main branch.
Bay began as a teller at the north branch and moved into central loan operations before becoming an administrative assistant.
She handles a wide range of responsibilities on the lending side, and fills in as a new accounts representative and teller, when needed.
Every quarter, Union State Bank receives nominations and names an “Employee of the Quarter.” Employee of the Quarter winners are awarded a bonus and a paid day off.
At the end of the year, at a Christmas party, all Employees of the Quarter are recognized and an Employee of the Year is named.
Bay was nominated and won Employee of the Quarter for the third quarter this year.
When she was nominated for the award, some of the comments from her peers on the application included:
- “Kim has done a great job arranging the monthly in-bank lunches.”
- “She fills in as a teller and new account rep numerous times and is always willing to help where she is needed.”
- “She volunteers to assist with outside activities for the bank and was one of the first to respond to volunteer for ‘Pay It Forward.’”
