“Kingsman: The Secret Service” was released in 2014, earning high ratings from both Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB.com.
In fact, IMDB users have given the movie 8.3 out of 10 stars.
Now fans of the movie have a sequel to look forward to in 2017.
Taron Egerton, who played the main character in the first movie, is back, but this installment looks to be set in the United States.
While the first movie centered on an evil genius bent on destroying the world to save it, the new movie’s plot has not been released yet.
So far, the only thing known is the cast — and the fact that the Kingsmen will have to work with their American counterparts.
Egerton’s character, Gary “Eggsy” Unwin, and his technology wiz, Merlin, are the only main characters from the first movie who have been mentioned thus far. Merlin, however, looks to have been persuaded to join the “dark side,” so to speak.
Meanwhile, Colin Firth is set to appear in this movie, as well, which is impressive, considering his character died in the last one.
“Kingsman: The Golden Circle” also will be directed by Matthew Vaughn, the same man who directed “Kickass” and “Kickass 2.”
The talent being added to the new movie includes Channing Tatum, Jeff Bridges, Julianne Moore and Halle Berry, just to name a few.
Elton John is listed, too, but I wonder how exactly he will fit in to this zany world.
All in all, I’m looking forward to next June, when I can see the movie in its entirety despite the confusion evidence in the trailers.
