Sarah Kuffler recently was named the Soroptimist Girl of the Month for March.
Kuffler is the daughter of Mike and Theresa Kuffler, of Arkansas City.
Among her achievements are an academic letter, received for having a 4.0 grade-point average for three years, and an Arkansas City Outstanding Student Award nomination.
Kuffler has participated in the National Honor Society for three years, including a year as treasurer, as well as orchestra for four years, art competitions and the Work Ethics program.
She also is very busy outside of school, including involvement in numerous activities in the community such as Prayer in Action for three years, the Diocesan Catholic Youth Board, Region 5 Youth Board for two years, Teens Encounter Christ retreat team, 4-H, FFA and art commissions.
For the past 60 years, Soroptimist International of Arkansas City has recognized outstanding young ladies who are seniors at Arkansas City High School as part of the Soroptimist Girl program.
Each year, the club recognizes nine outstanding young women who have excelled in academics, as well as extracurricular activities that include volunteer interests. Each honoree is given the opportunity to address club membership with a few words about her goals and aspirations.
