Land Rush Antique Mall opened for business at the beginning of April and the store at 208 S. Summit St. hasn’t stopped gaining momentum since.

It currently has more than 30 vendors who sell everything from antique glass to canned goods.

The antique mall is having a grand opening June 16, during which the majority of the vendors will have sales of 10 to 50 percent off.

The grand opening festivities will begin at 10 a.m. with the Arkansas City Area Chamber of Commerce ambassadors coffee.

At 10:30 a.m., there will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Owners Lisa and Derek Koller, and Amanda and Phil White will be host to a grilled hot dog lunch from 11 p.m. to 2 p.m.

During this time, 1025 The River will broadcast live from the antique mall.

“We are having a party,” said Amanda White.

Patrons will be able to register to win one of two special prizes. The winners will be announced at 5 p.m. and will not need to be present to win.

The first prize is an Arkalalah poster from 1972. The fall festival theme was “Witch’s Holiday” that year and the dates of Arkalalah fell on Oct. 27-28.

The second prize is a tied wicker hat. The inside of the hat is stamped “Imported from Italy by John B. Stetson.”

Another tag is stamped with “Kelley Gray” — one local said this was a men’s store in downtown Arkansas City at one time.
