  • Deputies assisted a motorist on 21st Road. The vehicle was off the roadway.
  • Deputies stopped a vehicle in the area of Mill Road and the U.S. 77 bypass. The driver, Abel Gomez Jr., 45, of Arkansas City, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and transporting an open container of alcohol. He was transported to and booked into the Cowley County Jail. Gomez since has posted bond and been released.
  • Deputies were dispatched to the 20000 block of U.S. 166 to assist with a medical call. A person was cutting limbs with a machete and accidentally cut his ankle.
  • Deputies assisted a motorist with two vehicles in the 7000 block of 302nd Road.
  • Deputies assisted a motorist in the 24000 block of 61st Road. The driver had a ride on the way and the vehicle was left parked legally.
  • Deputies assisted a motorist in the 23000 block of U.S. 77.
  • Deputies assisted a motorist in the 21000 block of U.S. 77.
  • Deputies were dispatched to the 23000 block of K-15 for a report of cattle on the roadway.
  • Deputies were dispatched to the 19000 block of 151st Road for a report of cattle on the roadway.
  • Deputies were dispatched to the 4800 block of Quail Run Road for a report of a found wallet in the roadway. The wallet was returned to the owner.
  • Deputies were dispatched to the 1000 block of Millington Street in Winfield regarding a theft report.
  • Deputies assisted a motorist in the 16000 block of U.S. 166. The driver had pulled over to check his bearings.
  • Deputies stopped to assist a motorist in the 22000 block of U.S. 160. A passenger had been sick and the driver was cleaning it up.
  • Deputies were dispatched to the 200 block of Lazette Street in Cambridge for a report of a trash can that had been set on fire.
  • Deputies transported a prisoner for the Arkansas City Police Department to the Cowley County Jail.
  • Deputies were dispatched to the 31000 block of 61st Road for a traffic complaint regarding speeding in the area.

  • Deputies were dispatched to the 900 block of Fuller Street in Winfield for a report of a man lying on the sidewalk in Memorial Park.
  • Deputies checked a vehicle in the 11000 block of U.S. 160.
  • Deputies were dispatched to the 11000 block of 192nd Road for a report of illegal trash dumping. The person who dumped the trash was located, interviewed and cited for the offense of criminal littering.
  • Deputies were dispatched to the 5000 block of U.S. 160 for a report of a female pedestrian in the area. No pedestrians were located in the area.
  • Deputies were dispatched to the 9000 block of First Road for a report of an open 911 line. It sounded like there was some type of disturbance in the background. No disturbance was located and the caller was contacted. It was an accidental dial.
  • Deputies were dispatched to the 29000 block of 41st Road for a report of harassment by text messages. The sender was contacted and told to stop sending the texts.
  • Deputies were dispatched to the 5000 block of 132nd Road for a report of a one-vehicle, non-injury, car-deer accident.
  • Deputies assisted a motorist in the 22000 block of U.S. 77. The vehicle had overheated and the driver was letting it cool off.
