The Arkansas City Area Arts Council will be host to an art exhibit featuring four local photographers beginning May 26.

The exhibit will kick off with an opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. May 26 at Ark City Arts, 112 S. Summit St.

“It’s going to be exciting,” said Arts Director Kammy Downs.

The reception will include refreshments from Budweiser and Versato Wine, and also is sponsored by Advanced Lawn and Landscape.

For six weeks, the works of Dixie Colquhoun, Paisley Howerton, Betsy Robinson and Tyler Ross will be on display to the public.

“I’ve been to some workshops at the arts council and didn’t participate in the last photo exhibit they had done, though I wanted to,” Howerton said.

This will be her first art exhibit.

Howerton takes photos for her business, O’ Clementine Photography, and as a hobby.

Ross has sold several of his photos to professional companies such as Home Depot, Macy’s Home Furnishings and Martha Stewart.

Colquhoun has sold several of her pieces through the years, but uses photography as stress relief, according to a release from Ark City Arts.

Robinson also takes photos for her own company, called Betsy Robinson Photography.
