McDonald’s Sewing & Vacuum will be host to several events this week, beginning at 10 a.m. Jan. 13.

The first event scheduled at the store, located at 222 S. Summit St., is a crafting class. It will feature the “tooly” — a customizable bag.

The tooly is big enough to carry almost any sewing tool imaginable, including a 4- by 8-inch cutting mat and ruler.

There is a $20 fee for the class, which includes the pattern. Call (620) 441-0939 to pre-register and receive a supply list for the class.

A computer boot camp — a tutorial on basic computer skills — will follow the crafting class at 2 p.m.

Attendees will be taught how to use a mouse, download files and copy them to a USB drive, plus other basics for working with embroidery files.

The class fee is $20, but it will be waived for customers who have purchased embroidery software from McDonald’s Sewing & Vacuum.

There are two more events Jan. 14, the first starting at 10 a.m.

This class is in the Quilting in the Hoop series and teaches a quilt-as-you-go method. The quilt will require the use of an embroidery machine.

Dalene McDonald will be on hand to teach the class.

At 1 p.m., there will be one more class. This one will feature napkins.

The final class has a fee of $39 and will include cutwork needles, one design, four cloth napkins, and one spool of thread.
