Katie DiVall has been selected as the Soroptimist Girl of the Month for October. She is the daughter of Kenny and Melissa DiVall.
Katie DiVall currently is ranked No. 1 in her graduating class with a 4.0 grade-point average. She has lettered in academics while participating in band the past four years, playing the flute, piccolo and oboe, and also serving as a drum major in the marching band.
DiVall, who was a fall Homecoming queen candidate and served as 2017 Miss Arkansas City during Arkalalah, plans to double-major in chemistry and math, then continue on to medical school.
She had the opportunity to travel on a mission trip to Kenya, which has inspired her to become part of Doctors Without Borders.
For the past 60 years, the Soroptimists of Arkansas City have recognized outstanding young ladies who are seniors at Arkansas City High School as part of the Soroptimist Girl program. Each year, the club recognizes nine outstanding young women who have excelled in academics, as well as extracurricular activities, including volunteer interests.
Each honoree is given the opportunity to address the membership with a few words about her goals and aspirations.
