Members of the community turned out for a meet-and-greet reception with Adriana Somerville, the newly hired alumni relations and Golden Tigers coordinator at Cowley College, on Sept. 19 in the college’s Earle N. Wright Community Room.
Somerville will be responsible for connecting alumni to the college, while also planning outings, educational programs and workshops for the Golden Tigers program.
She said she was happy to have an opportunity to meet several individuals in the Golden Tigers program during the come-and-go reception.
“I really wanted to make sure the Golden Tiger folks know who I am,” Somerville said. “It is good for them to put a face with the name. I want them to know that if they have any questions or concerns … I am here for them.”
Somerville is a graduate of Wichita State University, where she earned her bachelor of arts degree in communication. She also attended Cowley College, where she studied secondary education.
She said she enjoyed her time at Cowley as a student and is excited to be part of the Cowley community once again.
“It has been fun planning new events for now and in the future with the Golden Tigers and alumni,” Somerville said.
Cowley College’s Golden Tigers program, offered to community members who are at least 60 years old or fully retired, provides educational opportunities that promote social, spiritual, artistic and physical enrichment to its members.
