From July 1 through July 5, the Arkansas City Police Department responded to 39 calls for service regarding fireworks.
A majority of the calls came after the 10 p.m. cutoff time.
No citations were issued, according to the City of Arkansas City’s Facebook page.
A number of the calls were cleared as unfounded because officers were not able to find the source of the complaint.
Many times, by the time an officer is able to respond to a fireworks call, the problem has stopped or moved to a different location.
When officers were able to identify the problem location, verbal warnings were issued to remind citizens of the requirements of the city’s fireworks ordinance.
The Arkansas City Fire-EMS Department did not have any emergency medical service calls related to fireworks injuries and there were no fireworks-related fires, according to Fire Chief Bobby Wolfe.
