The Arkansas City Police Department is seeking a young man in connection with a robbery of a local Sonic restaurant that was reported late Oct. 21.

The suspect is Austin Ty Brownell. He is described as a white male in his mid-20s, wearing a hooded jacket. Police said Brownell last was seen Oct. 23 in Winfield.

Brownell is considered armed and dangerous. If you see him, call 911 immediately.

Officers were dispatched about 11 p.m. Oct. 21 for a report of a robbery at Sonic Drive-In, located at 1510 N. Summit St. They learned the suspect had entered the premises and demanded money.

He obtained cash from the Sonic employees before leaving through the same door he entered and fleeing in an unknown direction on foot. Pictures of the suspect were obtained from security camera footage.

Anyone who recognizes this suspect or has any information about this crime is asked to call the Arkansas City Police Department at (620) 441-4444.

Those wishing to remain anonymous may contact Cowley County Crime Stoppers, which offers rewards of up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest.
