Renew Wellness is offering a plethora of classes this spring, starting this weekend with Saturday wellness classes.
Owner Misty Townsley said she will try to keep class fees to $20 per class.
But for those who wish to have a one-on-one experience, individual classes can be scheduled for $30.
Yoga also can be incorporated into the individual classes.
Renew Wellness is located in the Chestnut Executive Suites at 119 E. Chestnut Ave.
On April 7, there will be an essential oils class. The topic will be Biblical oils and their uses.
Participants also will go home with an essential oil roller.
“With an essential oil class, I talk about how the oils are sourced, their quality (and) what they’re specifically used for,” Townsley said.
There is a lot of information given during the class, including tips on how to find more information on specific oils.
“Even people like me that have been using essential oils for over 20 years still have so many things to learn,” Townsley said.
“It’s really important to learn where to go for that knowledge.”
On April 21, Townsley will host a guided meditation class.
“With a guided meditation class, you’ll come in wearing comfy yoga clothes and everybody will sit around the room comfortably,” she said.
The lights will be dimmed and she also will use essential oils during the class, with sensitivity to any allergy concerns.
“I just talk to you while you breathe deeply,” Townsley said. “It’s a no-contact type of meditation, and it’s mainly just learning how to breathe and dial into our own bodies. We discuss the nature of meditation and its purpose, as well as alternative forms of meditation.”
Wellness massage tutorial
The class set for April 28 will be an infant and toddler massage tutorial.
The class is intended to help parents to learn how to soothe children using massage.
“Parents will go home with a ‘happy baby’ essential oil roller,” Townsley said.
Renew Wellness is open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays, from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, and from 1:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturdays. The business is closed on Sundays.
