Sandra Sue “Susie” Woodworth, 78, of Arkansas City, died Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, at South Central Kansas Medical Center.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, 2017, at First Presbyterian Church in Arkansas City.
Committal services will follow at 3 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton. The Rev. Amy Baumgartner will officiate.
Susie was born Jan. 9, 1939, to Carl and Avis (Judd) Fey in Newton.
She was reared and educated in Newton, graduating from high school there in 1956. She attended Emporia State University.
Susie married Merl E. Sturd on Dec. 1, 1958, in Newton. The couple made their home in Arkansas City. Merl preceded her in death on July 16, 1991.
She later married Lynn Woodworth on June 29, 1996, in Arkansas City.
Susie worked as a secretary for First Presbyterian Church and USD 470.
She was an active and devoted member of First Presbyterian Church, and a member of the GH Chapter of the PEO Sisterhood.
Susie is survived by her husband, Lynn, of the home; children, John Sturd, and wife, Lee Ann, of Arkansas City, Jeffrey Sturd, and wife, Tricia, of Overland Park, and Linda Johnson, and husband, Paul, of Salina; stepchildren, Kurt Woodworth, Jan Cole and Anna Woodworth, all of Overland Park; brother, Tom Fey, and wife, Gay Anne, of Wheatridge, Colorado; sister-in-law, Bonnie Fey, of Newton; grandchildren, Brylee Soule, Jancye Sturd, Michael Sturd, Missy Reed, Karlye Burroughs, Natalie and Ryan Sturd, Luke, Meg and Olivia Johnson, Mason and Meghan Woodworth, and Jackson Cole; and great-grandchildren, Audryee and Brayden Soule, and Greyson Sturd.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Merl; and brother, Monte Fey.
A memorial has been established for First Presbyterian Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
