Unclaimed scholarship money still is available in Cowley County.
Conco Construction is sponsoring a scholarship for a high school senior residing or attending a high school in Cowley County.
So far this year, no student has applied for the scholarship. Therefore, the deadline has been extended to May 31.
The scholarship is for 2017 graduating seniors with a minimum 2.0 grade-point average who are pursuing an industry certificate or degree in a construction industry such as carpentry, welding, or the construction trades.
Examples of these programs include trades programs at Wichita Area Technical College, Hutchinson Community College, North Central Kansas Technical College, Cowley College, etc., or construction management programs at Pittsburg State, Kansas State or Fort Hays State.
Cowley College’s welding program does qualify for this scholarship opportunity.
