Medical providers at South Central Kansas Medical Center recently launched a new program to honor staff who assist with the care of the facility’s most critical patients.
Providers with Integrity Healthcare Professionals announced the recognition program last week. Integrity Healthcare Professionals partners with the medical center to provide emergency room (ER) coverage at the facility.
“Integrity Health is proud and honored to announce the initiation of our Lifesaver of the Month Award at SCKMC,” said Dr. Joseph O’Donnell, director of quality and co-founder of Integrity Healthcare Professionals.
“This distinction is set forth to recognize those individuals at SCKMC who have had a ‘lifesaving impact’ in the recent care of our patients.”
While the Integrity providers concentrate on caring for emergency patients, the award program is open to all medical center staff.
“This extraordinary individual may contribute from anywhere within the line of care of the patient, and from any department,” O’Donnell said.
“Our hope is to fully appreciate and aptly recognize this person’s special contribution to our culture of premier health care delivery at SCKMC.”
The monthly recipient will have his or her picture posted within the facility, along with a brief synopsis of the exceptional measures taken to assure the best possible care for the patient.
In addition, the Lifesaver of the Month will receive a personalized coffee mug denoting the award and a “family night out” package that includes movie tickets, a dinner card, and a cash gift.
Integrity Healthcare Professionals began seeing ER patients through the medical center in January 2016.
They provide coverage using a combination of physicians and mid-level providers working directly with the SCKMC staff.
“We remain confident that the care rendered at our facility cannot be matched,” O’Donnell said.
“Among many options, our staff has chosen to dedicate their lives to bringing only the best back home. Integrity Healthcare is excited to join SCKMC in deservedly recognizing this heartfelt decision.”
