Due to ongoing flooding at the Winfield Fairgrounds, the Walnut Valley Festival has released information about the upcoming festival.

Canceling the festival is not an option, according to festival organizers.

“The Walnut Valley Association has every intention of hosting the 45th Festival — at the Winfield Fairgrounds,” their release states.

“We are dealing with very much the same situation as in 2008. With help from one of the best grounds crews in the world and countless others, including the City of Winfield, we plan for the interior being as close to normal as in years past.”

Currently, the Walnut Valley Festival ticket trailer has been relocated to Winfield City Lake.

Those who have passes to camp at the fairgrounds also are able to camp at the lake for no extra charge.

The City of Winfield is honoring camping fees paid for the Walnut Valley Festival.

“There are a few other camping alternatives available, but the Winfield City Lake is the only location that will provide camping free of charge for people that pay for camping for the festival,” the release from the festival states.

However, the City of Winfield cannot provide additional electrical hook-ups in the camping areas.

There are Porta-Potties available at the lake.

Stage 5 already is working on plans to relocate to lake, as well. No other information is available regarding the other small stages.

So far, there is no information about transportation to and from Winfield City Lake and the Winfield Fairgrounds.
