Participants in the run on the Wheat State Wine property can choose to run, jog or walk in a 2-mile walk, or a 5K or 10K run. The trail is rated as moderately difficult.
The winery has hosted the run for the last five years. This year, the run is being held to benefit the William Newton Healthcare Foundation.
“We strongly believe in the foundation’s philanthropic support to advance the missions of William Newton Hospital and enhance the quality of life in our community,” states a Facebook post.
There are only spots for a total of 400 runners in the event. The 5K and 10K each have 150 runner spots, and the 2-mile walk has 100.
Sign-up for the event is $50 and this fee is non-refundable.
However, for those who absolutely have to miss the event, there will be an option to transfer tickets until 48 hours before the run.
When individuals sign up, they will receive a Wine-O Trail Run T-shirt, a Wine-O Trail Run wine glass, a glass of wine — at least, those who are old enough to drink legally — a goody bag and 10 percent off all purchases at the winery. There also will be a non-alcoholic beverage available as a replacement for those who are not yet of age.
Along the trail, there will be water stops and wine tasting areas.
During registration, College Hill Coffee will be for sale, and after the race, Luciano’s will sell a delicious lunch.
Pictures can be taken at the photo booth for just $1.
Sign-up will be open until midnight May 18.
