The Winfield Elks Charitable Fund has announced a request for grant proposals. The project or programming must serve the Winfield area.

Each applicant is eligible to apply for one 2018 Winfield Elks Charitable Fund grant of up to $5,000.

The deadline for submitting completed applications is March 30. Detailed information is available at www.legacyregionalfoundation.org.

This fund residing with Legacy Regional Community Foundation provides funding to Winfield-area charitable projects and programming that help children to grow up healthy and drug-free, undertake projects that address unmet needs, or honor the service and sacrifice of veterans.

Successful project applications for the Winfield Elks Charitable Fund grant will carry out these same intended objectives.

“Winfield Lodge No. 732 was a significant presence in the community over the years, supporting many philanthropic efforts throughout decades,” said Yazmin Wood, executive director of Legacy Foundation.

“When the Winfield Lodge merged with El Dorado’s membership, the local building was sold, but Winfield Elks worked to retain the monies generated by the sale for good works to be accomplished in Winfield. This was possible through their partnership with Legacy Foundation.

“And by endowing those funds with our community foundation, their work will continue forever.”
